Allen J. Venezio

Allen J. Venezio has been serving as the Director of Bands at Tavares High School since the fall of 1999.  For five years, he also doubled as the Director of Choral Activities.  In addition to teaching all instrumental music activities, Mr. Venezio teaches AP Music Theory, directs the school musical, serves as the sponsor of the Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter and is the department chair of the school’s Fine Arts Department.  For his work at Tavares High, he has been twice nominated for Teacher of the Year by the faculty.

Outside of his school obligations, Mr. Venezio is an active professional trumpet player and private instructor.  He has had many private studio students earn superiors at District and State level solo & ensemble assessments and chairs in All-County, All-District, All-State Symphonic and All-State Jazz Bands.
Mr. Venezio graduated from the University of Central Florida in December of 1997 with the Bachelor of Music Education Degree.  Prior to that, he received an Associate of Arts degree from Central Florida Community College in Ocala where he graduated with honors.  Mr. Venezio is a 1991 honors graduate of Lecanto High School in Citrus County, FL.

Mr. Venezio is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Florida Music Educators Association, the International Trumpet Guild, Bugles Across America and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  He is a certified F.B.A. marching band, concert band and brass solo & ensemble adjudicator and served for eight years as an officer in the association, including two years on the state Executive Board.

Mr. Venezio is the proud father of Allen, Jr., the world’s smartest two-and-a-half year old.
